33 beads refers to the 33 beads of a tasbih— or misbah, or prayer beads— there are many names for the beautiful strings of beads used to count dhikr and prayers.

For me, the name 33beads is a little bit of play on words! It is a nod to the materials I use, and the patience and presence embroidery requires.

Yes, I take a small number of commissions every year. Custom pieces start at $100 and generally take 4-6 weeks to complete, with the final price depending on the complexity of your design.
